After yesterday’s eight-hour marathon of fussy wakefulness, Charlie slept six hours straight last night.
Let me repeat: Six. Hours. Straight.
I figured I had just missed the 2-3 a.m. feeding (endless thanks to Charles for always taking that shift). I noticed he still had on his Kiddopotamus, but thought Charles put it back on after the mid-night diaper change. And his diaper was super wet. It wasn’t until I noticed there were no empty bottles in the kitchen that it dawned on me.
Six. Hours. Straight.
Charlie got the biggest hugs from me and lots of grateful coos for giving his dad the chance to sleep entirely through the night; Charles got eight hours sleep. Then the little guy breastfed like a champ!
We had such a sweet morning of playtime, cuddles, and lullabies. Let’s be hopeful for more nights like this.
